American Cruise Lines: Small Ships-Great Service

American Cruise Lines owns and runs four cruise ships that run along the eastern coast of the United States. The four cruise ships are American Eagle, American Glory, American Spirit, and American Star. The American Eagle was the first American Cruise Lines ship and was founded in 2002. The American Glory was the American Cruise Lines second ship and was established in 2002 as well. The American Spirit, manufactured in 2005, was the American Cruise Line’s third ship and the American Star was most recently developed as the American Cruise Line’s fourth ship, in 2007.

American Cruise Lines began in the 1970s. The company operated during the boom in small-ship coastal cruising, then went out of business in the 1980s. In 2000 the same owner from the original American Cruise Lines, launched the company and brand name again.

The American Eagle was the first ship launched and had a capacity of 49 passengers. Months later, he produced a second ship, the same size as the first and named it the American Glory. Three years later, he built the third ship, American Spirit that held twice as many passengers as the first two ships built.

American Cruise Lines departure ports are all located near airports or train stations. All cruises depart at 1:00. Cruises may depart earlier if all passengers have boarded. Passengers may board the American Cruise Lines anytime after 9:00 a.m. the day of departure. Passengers may remain on the cruise ship until 8:00 a.m. the day of arrival.

The fare for an American Cruise Lines cruise includes cocktail parties, entertainment on the ship, passage, snacks and dining service.

Additionally, 110- volt household electric current is available in all staterooms for all electric appliances.

There are spacious dining halls in which passengers are served meals. All passengers may dine at the same time at one seating.

Passengers are encouraged to bring both cold weather and warm weather clothes. They are also encouraged to wear casual attire during the day including comfortable walking shoes.

American Cruise Lines has a very strict and documented cancellation policy. American Cruise Lines recommends trip cancellation protection. This is a form of insurance in the event the passenger may have to cancel their trip for any reason including death or accident. Actually in an Adobe Acrobat format, the Cruise Cancellation Protection plan is an American Cruise Lines travel protection certificate outlining the passenger’s duties in the event of a loss, what happens in the event of an injury or nervous breakdown and well as other covered events, a description of the cruise cancellation coverage, who is eligible for coverage, when coverage begins, pre-departure cruise cancellation benefits, and definitions of ‘air carrier’, ‘care giver’, ‘common carrier’, ‘cruise’, ‘cruise cost’, ‘domestic partner’, ‘eligible person’, ‘fee’ and ‘home’.
